Hello Robbie, my name is Olivia and I'm interested in nursing and plan on majoring in biology. I had a quick question regarding how you choose your field, since the healthcare field is so broad? Do you have any tips for me that would help me pursue a nursing career?
Hi Olivia! In order to select your field, both in nursing and for physicians, there are something called clinicals, or rotations. These are short dynamic programs that occur all over the United States in a wide variety of different fields. They will help you figure out whether you’d like to work with kids, mothers, or maybe even athletes! This will happen during your 3rd or 4th year in nursing school. Actually, my university, UVA, has a fantastic nursing school! Check it out: https://www.nursing.virginia.edu/
Hello, Robbie, my name is Salma and I have been reading through your replies, they are very helpful; however, I also have questions of my own. I want to pursue a job in the field of psychology as perhaps a psychiatrist or in clinical psychology. What do you think is the best path to follow to get there successfully?
Hi everyone! I currently work for the Virginia Department of Health as a Case Investigator. I am working to lower the burden of COVID-19 on the community surrounding my alma mater, the University of Virginia. I graduated from Booker High School in 2016. While at Booker, I was a wrestler, a student government member, and a Rotaract member. I also started a Peer-to-Peer Tutoring program for afterschool education. I was in the first cohort of students to graduate with an AICE Diploma and I also received my Associates Degree from State College of Florida, before coming up to Virginia! At UVA, I majored in Global Public Health, I was in a fraternity, and I interned abroad in India. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Would attending/ contributing to a medical program and or internship further help to prepare you for your studies in school?
